SUPERVISOR: Director of MyndWorks/AUSAA Grant

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Outreach and Youth Service worker with work with Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees thru grant funded mental health wellness program for Ukrainian families in the Central Pennsylvania area (Dauphin, Cumberland, Lancaster, Lebanon, York counties).  Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of wellness and mental health programming.  Outreach to potential participants, organizing the events with other program staff, and being present to implement and oversee the events.  This may include groups for adults, single gender (Woman only, men) and/or family- oriented events.  Events may be held evenings and weekends.
  • Meet with families identified by the Ukrainian case managers who may need additional support and service coordination to assist in individual and family stability. Meet with families in their homes for assessment, identification of service needs, and coordination of these needs. The focus will be on families with children under age 18 and may include collaboration with schools, children and youth agencies, and other child-servicing organizations.
  • Create and implement youth-focused programs, including culturally relevant programing and educational/recreational opportunities. This may also include implementation of in-home supportive educational programs for families with children who are struggling to adjust to their political and/or cultural situations.
  • Collaborate on community outreach, including coordination with other agencies servicing this population, attending community events to raise awareness of the services, and outreach to child-serving agencies.
  • Provide interpretation services at community events for families to support full engagement in the program.
  • Other program related tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

This position is hybrid office and community based with some activities that may be done virtually from home.  The position includes supervision with the program director weekly and a psychiatrist bi-weekly. The position will require evening and weekend work depending on client needs. This position reports to the Director of MyndWorks/AUSAA grant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with college coursework in social work or human services. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for coursework.
  • Ukrainian and Russian Speaking, along with high English language competency and excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience with children and families in a human service or educational setting
  • Experience in organizing and leading events for groups
  • Problem solving, analytical, communication and crisis management skills are necessary to assist clients and/or volunteers who may be in distress or traumatized.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Teams
  • A Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and minimum mandatory Pennsylvania automobile insurance coverage; Must be able to provide own daily transportation.

  • 2+ years of proven experience in a related field

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
